Zero MX

2010 Zero MX

Time has come for green dirt bike riding and, why not, racing with the 2010 Zero MX, the world’s first electric motocross ride. Zero Motorcycles also plan on maintaining it on its “most advanced electric dirt bike” position, so for this year they’ve upgraded virtually everything they could: powertrain, suspension, looks.

Furthermore, two versions are available, the Zero MX Sport and the Zero MX Extreme. With more power and stiffer suspension, this last version is the closest thing to a racing electric dirt bike that money can buy. It rewards you with 50 ft-lbs, 23 horsepower and only weighs 172 pounds, so it’s more or less like a mountain bike on steroids.

Zero DS

2010 Zero DS

The 2010 Zero DS is an electric bike with guts. It promises 96lb/ft of torque, all while weighing 277 pounds, and claims to have the ability to keep the rush coming on all kinds of terrains. What you’ll like about it the most is that it keeps its word on everything.

Taurus concept vehicle for cities

Taurus concept vehicle

Until we’ll be able to fly our way around the cities, designers will be coming up with interesting solutions for our urban transportation needs and one of them is precisely the Taurus concept vehicle.

Designed by Erik Lanuza, the bike is more like a Segway you sit down on and works on the same principle. This means the self balancing vehicle, which features sufficient safety mechanisms, responds to the rider’s front-rear body posture in order to move forward and stop, while direction is changed using the bull-like handles.

Light, rather small and easy to park, the Taurus looks like it can make life easier in the city, but also cleaner as it would be powered by zero emissions electric motors, making it also eco-friendly.

The reason why these sorts of concept vehicles are being released is to test the public. So, would you ride such a think if it would see production?

Victory Vision

2010 Victory Vision Tour

Writing about the 2009 Victory Vision, I didn’t had enough fingers on one hand to count the number of models available, but their 2010 lineup simplifies things at least from that point of view. Instead of having the Victory Vision Street/Premium/Tour/Tour Comfort/Tour Premium and a very beautiful 10th Anniversary Vision Tour, they’ve simply kept the Victory Vision Tour and created an all-new Vision 8-Ball model for 2010.

That’s rather interesting because we expected the Vision family to grow even bigger, but at least it makes it easier for customers to pick a bike.

Yamaha biker dilemma: FJR1300 vs FZ1 vs XV1600 = human clones

This is a very funny video for Yamaha directed by Mark Toia. It shows a fan of the Japanese brand having troubles deciding himself between three different models, the FJR1300, FZ1 and XV1600 and the guy eventually has himself cloned for the sake of riding the three bikes at the same time. Hmm, I guess I never thought at it that way.
