Ghost bike or the most aerodynamic Skeleton ever

Ghost bike

The Skeletor is a truly unique custom made motorcycle by Vardenchi Customs from India and guess what. It doesn’t have a V-twin engine or much chrome to make it shine as it is ridden down the freeway, but its builder declares: “I’ve never got so many stares on a motorcycle before.” That is most likely because after hours and hours of hard work, the Skeletor motorcycle looks like it just rode out of a graveyard in a MJ-like music video.

The scary looking thing was actually ordered by a Mumbai celebrity and it took Vardenchi Customs three months to complete. It looks like the very demanding customer isn’t craving for an impressive horsepower figure, just a way to stand out furthermore from the crowd.

Based on a Vardenchi Classic, the Skeletor features the shop’s regular frame and two-arm-swinger, while the fork meets the frame at a rake angle that helps making it look like engaging in a some sort of attack position. On top of the original frame, this custom gets a bone-like look with a metal matte silver paintjob. Okay, this isn’t a prety sight in your rear view mirror, but it will sure let paparazzi know when their target is on the move.

Extreme off-road at height!

2010 February 26
by topspeed.com

Riding a motorcycle is rather risky by the nature of the fact, but seeing what these guys understand by extreme off-road, what the streets may have to offer sounds like a piece of cake. A narrow mountain trail is the only stretch of “safe” ground between the mountain wall and sure death, making this a very challenging enduro adventure, especially for the psychic.

Video: Great Britain’s motorcycle safety campaign

2010 February 26
by topspeed.com

Great Britain has started a motorcycle safety campaign in an attempt to reduce the number of casualties involving bikers and an awareness video was released to suggest motorists to look out for motorcyclists. Starting from the idea that drivers are most likely to look out twice for bikers if they actually know one personally, the video shows riders with accessories that would make even Rio de Janeiro carnival participants envious. See it for yourself.

Plausible BMW fuel cell motorcycle concept [w/video]

BMW fuel cell motorcycle concept

Although it wears the BMW badge, this is a concept bike created by a group of design students at ISD of Valenciennes, France. Called the “BMW HP Kunst”, the whole concept spins around the idea of hydrogen power, so it features the fuel cell where you’ll normally find the internal combustion engine on a regular motorcycle, a 20-liter cryogenic tank and a lithium polymer battery pack for electrical energy supply.

The French students do offer a glimpse in the ecological future of motorcycles, but the thing still had to look good and perform even better. Being asymmetric, dynamic and featuring electronic brakes and controls as well as electromagnetic suspensions, we believe this is an overall great concept motorcycle with good chances to hit production if BMW ever thinks to turn their research effort on hydrogen into something profitable.

2010 Triumph Bonneville T100 Limited Edition

Triumph revamps the 2010 Bonneville lineup for the model’s 50th anniversary and we dare saying from the very beginning that it is their best one yet. The facts backing this affirmation up consist in both the presence of a fuel injection system for the legendary powerplant as well as that of three different models apart from the T100 one.

Although the British motorcycle manufacturer was keen on retaining the original 1960s look of the Bonneville, the standard and SE models are both modern interpretations of their old timer’s sibling and, of course, they feature the same engine.

Bat Bike concept by Bembli Design

The Bat Bike concept was designed by Marouane Bembli who drew inspiration from the movies Dark Night and Transformers in the attempt to combine the raw mechanics of a transformer with the stealthiness of a batmobile.

Claimed being a guardian of the city, the V4-powered concept could handle itself without human interference. This makes us thing of it as the future of police bikes. What do you think?

Yamaha FZ8 Fazer

2010 Yamaha FZ8 Fazer

Yamaha has just unveiled an all-new motorcycle joining their supersport family, the FZ8 or the Fazer 800, as it will be called in Europe. A middleweight model powered by a 799cc inline-four engine, the 2010 Yamaha FZ8 has come to replace the FZ6 model and it does it in the characteristic style of the series, meaning you get a half fairing and the bike finds itself positioned on the thin line between track-gained performance and a comfortable riding position.

We feel sorry for the FZ6 – which we happen to like a lot – but can’t wait to take the FZ8 for a spin. That will actually take a while as full information about the bike will be released on March 12. We will upgrade this post as soon as new info becomes available so stay tuned.

2010 Triumph America

Sometimes it isn’t recommended to go ahead and buy the first motorcycle that looks perfect to fulfill your riding needs even though your every single cell tells you to do so simply because there can always be an even more adequate alternative. That’s why we have the competition heading in all of our reviews, but in this case that’s not going to be the solution.

So if you haven’t already made a deposit for the Speedmaster, the America can blink an eye at you as it is more comfortable without losing any of the British magic look.

2010 Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré

The much-awaited and anticipated Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré finally broke loose with the goal of tipping the adventure-touring king, the BMW R1200GS, off its throne and we must say the all-new Japanese bike has all the credentials to make that possible. To begin with, there’s a great demand for big-bore adventure sports bikes in general and, with the right ergonomics, powerplant and innovative features, for the all-new Super Ténéré in particular.

Vyrus Superbike and Yellow Fever by Oberdan Bezzi

Vyrus Superbike

According to these sketches, Italian designer Oberdan Bezzi seems to like the Vyrus 987 C3 4V a lot, but finds the bike a little too…naked and has come up with two faired versions of the ingenious original package. The Vyrus Superbike is supposed to be the competition version as it doesn’t have lights or mirrors and it’s rather hard not to spot the slick tires as you check out the hub-center steering chassis design, which is kept on both bikes. The street version is called “Yellow Fever” and it does feature all the necessary for street homologation as well as road tires.

So here you have it, the easiest way to turn beast into beauty…or at least disguised beast. Follow the jump to read the translated official description.

Moto Guzzi V11 streetfighter by GHEZZI–BRIAN

Moto Guzzi V11 streetfighter by GHEZZI–BRIAN

The Moto Guzzi V11 was originally built as a veritable naked with café racer styling cues, but GHEZZI – BRIAN has recently presented the streetfighter version of the Italian bike and we totally dig it. This is actually a demo bike for the Furia Replica kit that stands behind the striking transformation, but the upgrades go way further than what meets the eye as the kit includes new pistons, rods, camshaft and exhaust pipes, all bringing the Italian V-twin to a more than decent 100bhp.

The Furia Replica kit is easy to fit on any Moto Guzzi V11, but at $5,442 (€4,000), you really have to like it in order to buy it and for those expecting more details, check out the list of parts that compose the kit after the jump.
